DJ’S Famous Wings A Family Sports Pub Review

Cape Cod Restaurant Review: DJ’s

Last Wednesday evening, on our way back to the Palmer House we happened upon a very busy parking lot at Colonial Plaza on Main Street. As it turned out, it was the first night opening of a wonderful new restaurant – DJ’s Famous Wings A Family Sports Pub.

We looked at each other and Bill said, ” Why not stop in.”  We weren’t disappointed. The pub was packed and we happened to run into several friends. We are pleased to report that its menu fills an important gap in Falmouth’s restaurant choices. In the past guests have asked, “Where can we get some good wings and ribs?”  Well, now there is a great place just a mile away from the inn. The menu features Buffalo Hot Wings (of course) and includes classic New England fried seafood, like Shrimp Rolls and Clam Strip Plates. With Pub Grub, Steak Sandwiches, soups salads rounding out the menu there’s something for everyone.

The atmosphere is lively and fun and the wait staff is young and energetic. The design and colors are bright and cheerful and the upper  portion of the  walls are lined with TV’s. Also,  each booth has its own TV. The menu is creative and reasonably priced.

DJ’s is a local, family run, business that was started in Hyannis in June, 1989. They opened that summer boasting that they were the first to bring original-style buffalo wings to Cape Cod. They say, “We were the first wing-joint ever to cross the bridge!” They started as a seven seat eat-in, take-out and delivery hot spot. Soon after opening, they expanded the menu to include bone-sucking ribs, specialty sandwiches and daily specials.

In 2004 they relocated to a more spacious location in Hyannis and became the a sports bar. That is when the name was changed to DJ’s Family Sports Pub. Their award-winning wings are what made them famous but now the full menu is outstanding. It is fun, inventive, fresh and delicious. Every item is cooked to order and all of the food is prepared freshly every day.

Now in March of 2013 their second location on Falmouth’s Main Street has opened. One of more creative things that they have started is:

Location, Location

One of the best things about this vibrant new pub, is its location. It is just steps from the Falmouth Commodore’s Baseball Field. I can just see this place after the games next summer. It will be packed.
