The Palmer House Inn is open and we are decorated for this joyous holiday. Give us a call and join us for a few days. You can take advantage of our Spring Break Special. The Main Street shops in Falmouth Village are decorated and all of the fine restaurants are open. As always the Easter Bunny will be here on Saturday to oversee the Easter Egg Roll on the library lawn and after the Roll’s festivities, she will be meeting with the little ones on her thrown on the stage at Peg Noonan Park.

Spring has arrived, the snow drops and crocus are in bloom. The grass is beginning to get greener. The days are getting longer and warmer.  The breezes are softer and the birds are returning from the south land. The outside work at the Inn has begun in preparation for the busy high season.  Cape Cod is waking up after its long winter’s nap.

After a short trip to the west coast in January to visit family, Bill and I have spent the quiet season polishing, painting and otherwise preparing, Our quaint Cape Cod bed and breakfast is ready to welcome for the new season. As spring progresses we are rested and ready to go. I have been experimenting in the kitchen and have made a few new additions to our menu offerings but the old favorites will still be served. Remember, if you do have a favorite Palmer House Inn, breakfast that you remember form a prior stay, just let us know when you are booking your reservation and we will do our best to make your wish come true.

There will be a few other changes for the 2013 season. Bill has decided to take on a new role during our the morning service. As much as he enjoys cooking, his plan is that he will no longer be behind the kitchen counter but will be more available to the guests. He will be in the office and around the common areas and will be free to chat with guests, to answer questions about day trips, issue bicycles, sell ferry tickets or print boarding passes.

For those of you who came to know and enjoy the pleasant personalities of  our lovely 2012 housekeeping staff, we have kept in contact them in Romania and Bulgaria and many of them will be returning in May and June, just in time for warm weather.

Lilly of the Valley

Monca, Stanislava, Geargiana and Ciprianna add such joy and youthful enthusiasm to the inn’s service and charm. The personal touch is what innkeeping is all about. We have also added a new person to the front desk staff. Her name is Mimi and she will be with us year round. She is a warm and energetic New Englander. She has lived in Falmouth for a number of years, and she knows all of the best places to visit and dine. She is also an artist who exhibits throughout Cape Cod. We are looking forward to the new dimension that she will be adding to our Cape Cod bed and breakfast experience.
