My mother’s iris are blooming in on Cape Cod.
Mom’s Iris
Mom passed away in 2001 and we sold the family home. Before the house was sold however, my sister took some of the iris from Mom’s garden. We planted the iris the first year that we owned The Palmer House and they have bloomed each spring. They are not as big and showy as the new variety that are found in modern gardens but some of my earliest and happiest memories are of helping Mom tend her flowers.
These are good memories to have.
