Beer Week in Falmouth, Cape Cod

Liam Maguire’s

Liam Maguire’s Irish pub will be hosting a beer dinner with food pairings on May 14th from 7:00 – 10:00 PM. As always there will be fine live Irish music. As you can see from the photo, motorcycle clubs enjoy Liam’s. They enjoy riding the scenic coast roads for which Falmouth is known, then stopping for lunch before continuing on their journey. (We received a nice review from Road Runner Magazine not too long ago.) For more information go to www.liammaguire.com or  for reservations call (508)540-0285.

Quarterdeck

Quarterdeck Restaurant

The Quarterdeck is located on Main Street in Falmouth Village. It is just seven minutes walk from the Palmer House Inn.

The “quarterdeck” is a nautical term that refers to part of a ship’s upper deck that is located close to the stern and is traditionally reserved for officers. Our Quarterdeck is a rustic bar and restaurant that is a favorite with locals and visitors alike. The menu features fresh sea food but those who enjoy steak, chops or chicken are not disappointed.  One can order anything from a chicken sandwich to a complete lobster dinner and the prices are reasonable.  Their New England clam chowder is outstanding and they have two sizes of lobster rolls. The large one is made with Portuguese bread and is arguably the best in town. Just to show how popular they are, they do not even need a website. Word of mouth does it all.

Roo Bar

Falmouth's Roo Bar

Roo Bar

The Roo Bar is another of Falmouth Villages favorites. It is also located on Main Street. It is one of Cape Cod’s few Australian Style restaurants. It gets its name from the device that is fitted on the front of the Australian railroad locomotives. The bar is used to push the kangaroos out of the way of the train. The Roo Bar has many interesting and unusual menu offerings in addition to the traditional comfort foods like meat loaf and mac and cheese. For more information: www. roobar.com
