How to make Cape Iced Tea.

Ingredients

  • 8 cups Water (2 boiling, 6 cool)
  • 6 Tea Bags (we used P&G Tips for these photos)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (or to taste)
  • 1/2 cup fresh squeezed organic lemon juice

Iced Tea Directions

Boil 2 cups of water. Add tea bags and allow to brew. Set aside and allow to cool, then refrigerate.

When it is time to serve, mix the sugar, lemon juice, and remaining water (or water and ice). Add brewed tea, stir and serve.

We like to brew up the concentrated tea portion of this recipe when we are making tea in the morning. Then cool it down in the fridge and serve in the parlor for very relaxing afternoons watching the world go by on the front porch.

Recipe Tip:

Substitute Splenda for a sugar-free variation.

Cape Cod’s Roosevelt Room, B

While all of our rooms have their own individual charm suitable for relaxation after the most wonderful day of adventures, we recommend the Harriet Beecher Stowe room, the Theodore Roosevelt room or the Emily Dickinson room. These rooms feature comfortable king beds, fireplaces, jetted tubs and a relaxing stay before and after your day.
